“Graphic design” is a big word. I learned over the years that what we do is more than just a logotype, a web page, or a font, what we create is a system, and design is the process.
In this talk we will explore fonts as design and computer systems, and how the latest variable font technology can help us organize and create more simple and efficient structures.

Frida Medrano is a Mexican type and interaction designer currently working at Kettle in San Francisco, California. She is interested in design automation and exploration projects where technology and design converge. She won the SOTA Catalyst Award in 2018 and has presented her work in forums like ATypI, TypeLab, TypeCon, IxDA, Letrástica, and TMX.
